Greer lately

It's been a while since I've talked about my kids yeah, right, so I thought I'd give a little update on at least one of them today!  Greer will be 15 months old on Friday, and I am just now getting around to posting the pictures from the photo shoot we had back in January.  I can't wait to show you some more pics from that day, but you may have to wait a few days....something very exciting is coming to the blog soon!

So here she is, my beautifully blond baby girl.  There's not much hair there yet, but what she has is almost white!  Where'd she get that wicked white hair?  And, what about that birthmark?  Well, Greer will have her 6th (or is it 7th....I have seriously lost count) laser treatment a week from today.  She was born with a Port Wine Stain on her face/head/scalp, and if you are new to our story, I encourage you to click here to read how far we've come.  God is so good!!!

In spite of the great fading she has had, we have noticed some changes to the birthmark lately that concern me a bit.  It has become sort of mottled looking, and at times looks a lot darker than it did months ago.  I plan to ask her doctor about this, but I truly have a peace about it all.  God has brought us so far and He has been there every step of the way....I know He is in control and knows what is best.  To Him be the Glory.

Please say a prayer for us next Tuesday, it is always a bit stressful!

Other than that, things are pretty simple when it comes to good 'ole Greer (or Bubbitts as we like to call her) That is the nickname that Lucy came up with, and it's what we love to call her.  I promise to catch Lucy on video calling for her Bubbitts....it is priceless!

She eats like a horse, sleeps 20+ hours a day....YES, I am serious, and is just about the funniest thing you have ever seen.  What is it they say about the third child?  Yes, she's ever the comedian....already!

That about sums it up!  Love you, Bubbitts!!!

Raw.

I am sad, I am filled, I am blessed, I am confused, I am challenged, I am happy.

My best friend is moving.  My heart is breaking. I have to tell my little boy that his best friend is moving.  I can't bear it.  I have a headache.  Worship today was amazing.  I feel filled up.  My computer is so freaking slow,  it is driving me crazy.  The kids were just awful today, but at times they were angels.  I got all the laundry done.  Chris is anxious and stressed....God give him peace.

I had a great time at the grocery store by myself.  I'm weird.   I love that my sister has moved in with us.  What an awesome blessing!  It's Spring, things are blooming, the yard needs some work.  I need to vaccuum.  I am happy.  I am tired.  I am done apologizing.  I am free.  I'm giving God the Glory.  You're there God, right?  Yes, you're always there.

I am preparing for Holy Week.  I want to feel that raw pain.  I know that the joy of Easter will be sweeter after I reflect...reflect on His pain.  His sacrifice.

For when I am raw, He has me at my best.....

Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me.  Melt me.  Mold me.  Fill me.  Use me.  Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me.  The words play over and over again in my head.

I am happy, heartbroken, renewed, at peace....all at the same time.  How is that possible?

Through You.  Through my faith in You.

Praying for my friends...now and always!

If you don't know my friends Alan and Jennifer, let me introduce you! Their story is pretty amazing and they still have a tough road ahead. I've been trying to help Jen keep things updated over on their Caring Bridge site so she can get some rest and spend her free time caring for her little ones. Please click here to catch up on their story, and please pray for them if you feel led. Thanks so much, friends!

Y'all Come Shoppin'!

My Aunt Donna owns an awesome shop (Robbie's) in the little west Alabama town where my parents grew up.   It's a gem that we have always treasured, and I wanted to share the fun with my friends.  I can't tell you how many compliments I get on all the pieces I get from her.  They are so fun and unique...and some of the best brands out there.  Lots of my friends have found something perfect for Easter!

She sent me a box of pieces last week, and I still have some cuties to sell.  I plan on keeping them 'till about Tuesday of next week.  I would love for you to come over and shop!  I live in the Birmingham area and am around most of the time between now and then.  Just email me and we'll work out the details.  My email address is megan@holdituptothelight.com !

I wore this cute top (the one above) today, and I can't tell you how many people stopped me to ask where I got it.  The picture doesn't do the bead work justice....and it is so comfy!

Here are a couple more.  I sent an email out to a bunch of my friends earlier that had a picture of all the tops/dresses I have left (I can forward it to you if you want to see them, too).  I also have some cute capri pants and leggings if you need those.  Please come and take these off my hands....if you don't,  I am in serious danger of keeping them all for myself.....

Chris would not be proud (but I sure would look cute)!!!

On Economics and Meal Planning

I'm proud to announce that I have finally reached my goal weight!

WooHOO and Hallelujah!

Just in time for baseball season (no friends, I don't think concession stand food will keep me here for long!).  I decided that it was time to get serious about meal planning on a budget, and I rediscovered something I tried years ago.  Let me just tell you, it is new and improved and I am excited to get started!!!

The founders of this awesome concept are from right here in Alabama, and when they first got started they went on Rick and Bubba to promote the plan.  Chris told me about it, and we tried it for a few months.  I really liked it, but for some reason or another quit doing it.  That was probably 5 or 6 years ago, and let me just say, the options and features have gotten so much better.  I was so excited to see that they had a Points option (I'm a Weight Watchers girl) for my favorite grocery haunt (Publix!).  Don't have a Publix near you?  No need to worry...they have an Any Store and Wal-mart option, too.  They offer low-fat, low-carb, and regular meal plans.  They average $75-$90/week (before coupons) for 7 meals to feed your family...can't beat that!

What does it involve?  Plain and simple, it gives you a weekly meal plan (7 meals that will feed a family of up to 6) based on the diet plan and grocery store of your choice.  The meals include ingredients that are on sale that week, and have full recipes and grocery lists.  It is pretty unbelievable!  It's economical, efficient, organized, and simple.  Just what this frugal, multi-tasking, Type A, mother-of-3 needs!  I can't wait to get my menu for next week!!!

(it only costs $5 a MONTH to join!)

Any of my readers already on the e-mealz plan?
Tell me what you think!
